Pick the right wavelength
- 850nm: Bright, slightly visible red glow; best reach and clarity.
- 940nm: Lower glow, stealthier; less range/brightness than 850nm.
Beam and mounting
- Adjustable focus helps tailor flood vs throw. Use flood for near/medium, tight beam for distance.
- Mount inline with your optic if possible; avoid casting shadows from barrels/rails.
Safety tips
- Never stare into IR emitters up close—eye safety still matters.
- Keep illuminators ventilated; high-power diodes can heat up.
- Respect wildlife and local regulations regarding artificial light at night.
