Pick the right wavelength

  • 850nm: Bright, slightly visible red glow; best reach and clarity.
  • 940nm: Lower glow, stealthier; less range/brightness than 850nm.

Beam and mounting

  • Adjustable focus helps tailor flood vs throw. Use flood for near/medium, tight beam for distance.
  • Mount inline with your optic if possible; avoid casting shadows from barrels/rails.

Safety tips

  • Never stare into IR emitters up close—eye safety still matters.
  • Keep illuminators ventilated; high-power diodes can heat up.
  • Respect wildlife and local regulations regarding artificial light at night.
